Chad Update
Chad took a turn for the worse yesterday…his blood pressure shot through the roof, his fever kicked up, and — most concerning — started hemmoraging in/near his brain. The combination of chemo, cancer, and his body’s reaction to everything has reached a boiling point.
They moved him to critical care last night to constantly monitor him. They were concerned that he was dangerously close to having a stroke, which would understandably be devastating at this point.
He’s in real bad shape, very dazed and confused, and the brain activity is making him delusional. Last night the doctor told his mom that things were sketchy, and he told her Chad had a 50/50 shot to make it through the next day.
So far he’s still with us (I’m in the lobby of the critical care unit which has wi-fi). His blood pressure has lowered, but it’s fairly touch and go at this point. He’s somewhat stable, but still rather critical I would say. He had another CAT scan at 10:30 AM this morning, and hopefully the results will come back soon, which will determine if he’s still bleeding in his brain.
